Tulip Poplar trees were a pleasant discovery right in the front of our property.  When we first started learning about herbs and understanding how they could benefit us, we were intrigued about what kind of plants were already growing on our property.  To our surprise, two huge Tulip Poplar trees were growing right in front of our house with the most beautiful yellow-green and orange flowers.  It turns out that the flowers have a warming flavor and can soothe an upset stomach.  The bark and flowers of the Tulip Poplar tree can be used and have relaxing effects on the nervous system and are used as a skeletal muscle relaxant for those who are overstressed. It can be made into a tincture, tea, or infused oil which helps relax tight and tense muscles, particularly in the neck, back, and pelvic area, soothes menstrual cramps.
