Lavender

Lavender is such a popular aromatic flower that is famous for calming and relaxing effects.  As we learned more about the benefits of this plant, they stretched well beyond its pleasant aroma.  Lavender can be taken internally as a tea, tincture, or glycerite.  It is an excellent digestive aide, by easing gastrointestinal bloating, flatulence, and cramping.   Lavender has the ability to relax muscle tension and enhance circulation, reducing tension headaches. Lavender can also be used externally.   Due to its antibacterial and analgesic properties, lavender is useful for disinfecting cuts, wounds, and burns while it soothes pain and aids in healing and reducing scars.  After learning all these benefits, we wanted to plant this plant in our garden.  Our lavender plants are small, but hoping these perennials will continue to grow.
